Our Story
2022
1101 [eleven-o-one] was created by Eddie Latham and Will Donoghue, who after a combined 30 years of experience working with products and brands, decided that they wanted to lead the way in mindful design and sustainable production.
After both becoming parents within the last two years, they set out to create a platform for product creation, putting the environment first and striving to work with innovative forward-thinking manufacturers, suppliers and partners.
Founder of Majority a global D2C home audio powerhouse, and Velocity Commerce the UK’s leading marketplace brand management agency.
Eddie is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur with a wealth of experience in D2C brand building.
Eddie’s two companies have an annual combined turnover of over more than 60 million USD, with a team over of 60 employees around the globe.
Since graduating from Brighton doing a Product Design (BSc) degree he has been passionate about sustainability within design.
With a wealth of experience in digital and product design, Will has created and run boutique digital agencies and developed design solutions and concepts for global brands.

Velocity Commerce
Eddie founded Velocity Commerce, the multi-award-winning agency, in 2012. It’s the UK’s leading marketplace brand management agency, helping some of the largest global brands including Sony and Hoover blossom by delivering forward-thinking, ambitious online strategies.
It’s been named one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe in the 2020 FT 1000 and for three consecutive years, ranked in ‘The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100’ league table.

Majority
Majority was founded in 2012, and is one of the fast-growing, carbon-neutral audio brands in the world. The direct-to-consumer brand began by selling a Bluetooth speaker from a garage in Cambridge, England to now having offices globally selling a range of radios, speakers, soundbars and DVD players.
Last year, Majority were recognised by the Queen and awarded the Queens’ Award for International Trade in recognistion of their global sales of over100 million USD, and over 3 million speakers sold.
Majority remain dedicated to making quality, easy-to-use home audio products for all occasions. They are protective of the environment and planet we rely on. Through their tree plantation scheme and recyclable package, they are a carbon-neutral company.
Will’s Background
Footwear & Sustainability
In 2015, Will became a founding member of SaiKutsu – a sustainable footwear initiative created by the world’s leading sustainable denim manufacturer Saitex.
SaiKutsu delivered development and design consultancy for fashion and footwear brands such as Converse, Everlane, True Religion, New Balance, Tretorn, Volcom, and EcoAlf.
Offering unique technologies and supply chain options SaiKutsu strived to do things differently with Saitex at the wheel of their innovation. In-house R&D projects were white-labeled to our brand partners sharing individual stories and sustainable design options to set them apart from the competition.
Will was also an integral part of the Saitex team creating digital presentations and films enabling large-scale projects resulting in world-leading factories and Mills.
Will’s Background
Digital & Agency
Will has been working in digital design since graduating in 2007.
Cutting his teeth starting a small boutique website design agency in Cambridge and progressing to Shoreditch/London to join Mylo Design now known as This Place as a director and founder in 2012.
Will has worked on many large and small-scale digital projects through the dawn of social media and smartphones working with clients such as Mandarin Oriental, Mc Saatchi, Leftbank Pictures, Delhaize, Supremebeing,

Our mission
At 1101 we believe in planning for the future, through mindful design and sustainable production.
We want to create recyclable products from waste and replace single-use plastics.
This is the starting point from each brief we work on. We want to re-establish the rules in manufacturing and production.
We will not compromise. We will use new innovations in the sector. We will build collectives with like-minded suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring we all plan for the future.
